Agafay or the Sahara: Which Desert Is Right for You?
Most of our desert weddings take place in the Agafay desert, about 40 minutes from Marrakech. Its golden stone hills, open skies and views of the Atlas Mountains make it ideal for a wedding weekend: your guests stay in Marrakech and reach the camp easily. If you dream of high sand dunes, we also design weddings in the Sahara around Merzouga, a longer journey that suits couples planning a multi-day desert adventure.
Symbolic Ceremony or Legal Wedding?
Most international couples complete the legal formalities in their home country, then celebrate with a symbolic desert wedding in Morocco led by a professional celebrant. It is simpler, fully personal, and gives you complete freedom over the vows, the music and the setting. If you would like a legally binding wedding in Morocco, tell us your situation and we will guide you through the required formalities.
Travelling from Europe, the UK or the USA
Direct flights reach Marrakech in about 2 to 4 hours from most European cities (under 2 hours from Madrid, around 3.5 hours from London, Paris or Milan). From the United States, couples usually fly to Casablanca or connect through a European hub before continuing to Marrakech. We coordinate flights for you and your guests, airport pick-ups and private transfers to the camp.
When Is the Best Time for a Desert Wedding?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer warm days and mild evenings, perfect for an outdoor ceremony at sunset. Summer days are hot, so we schedule the ceremony late in the afternoon. Winter nights in the desert are cold, and we provide heating and blankets to keep everyone comfortable.
From an Intimate Elopement to a Large Celebration
There is no fixed guest limit. Some couples choose a desert elopement for just the two of them; others bring family and friends for a full wedding weekend. We adapt the camp, the menu and the programme to your group.

Can we customise a package?
Yes, all our Agafay desert wedding packages are tailor-made. You can add a luxury camp upgrade, a private camp buyout, a private chef, a sunrise hot air balloon flight or Moroccan touches such as a henna night and caftans. Upgrades are priced on quote.
How many guests can you host?
From two people for an elopement, up to 20 guests with our Intimate Desert Wedding package, and more than 20 guests with our Desert Celebration, planned with a bespoke quote.
Is the ceremony legally binding?
No. Our desert ceremonies are symbolic. Most couples marry legally at home first, then celebrate with a symbolic ceremony in the Agafay desert led by an officiant.
